LOUISVILLE, Ky. — DePauw’s Emily Timberman and Texas Lutheran’s Ashlyn Strother claimed the latest Division III Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors of the 2024 season on Tuesday.

Senior third baseman Timberman went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in an 9-7 victory over then-No. 23 Lynchburg. She was walked twice intentionally in the second game of the twinbill, finishing her week with a .800 batting average, .857 on-base percentage and 2.000 slugging mark. The Fishers, Ind., product also collected a putout and two assists while playing flawless defense at the hot corner. Timberman was a member of the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic All-Tournament team earlier this season.

Meanwhile, Strother had an epic week for the No. 15 Bulldogs. The senior right-hander pitched a perfect game, and had a no-hitter and an one-hitter among four wins in the circle. The Seabrook, Texas, native needed just 73 pitches to complete a perfect game against the University of Dallas on Friday, and finished just a walk shy of perfection again on Saturday. For the two contests, Strother fanned 25 of 31 batters. Earlier in the week, she struck out 14 in an one-hitter against Southwestern and fanned eight in a six-inning, four-hitter versus the Pirates that took two days to complete.
