STARKVILLE, Miss. – Ouachita Baptist senior Haley Chamber and Hawaii-Hilo sophomore Amber Waracka have been named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for games played March 8-14.

Chambers went 13-for-19 on the week with nine runs, 15 RBIs, a stolen base, four doubles, a triple and two home runs over a 5-1 week for the Tigers.

The Booneville, Ark., drove in four of Ouachita’s five runs against Arkansas Tech on Saturday and drove in all four on Sunday to help lift the Tigers to a 3-1 series win over the Golden Suns. Her seven extra base hits helped propel her to a 1.105 slugging percentage on the week.

Waracka won all five games she appeared in on the week allowing no runs, 11 hits and just eight walks over 28.2 innings of work, as the Vulcans finished the week with a perfect 8-0 record. She limited her opponents to a miniscule .118 batting average on the week, while striking out 31 of them.

The sophomore from Kahuluu, Hawaii, tossed a no-hitter against Dominican (CA), a one-hitter vs. Dominican (CA) and a two-hitter against Notre Dame De Namur. Waracka notched four complete game shutouts last week and finished with a 0.00 ERA.

Ouachita Baptist is currently 23-6 on the year, while Hawaii-Hilo stands at 18-5.

Samantha Hildebrandt of Winona St., hit .700 to help lead her team to a 4-0 week… Katie Goetzinger of Wayne St. (NE) posted a 0.00 ERA over five wins with 35 strikeouts… Armstrong Atlantic’s Ballie Temples had eight runs and 11 RBIs, helping her team to a 7-0 record on the week… Kayla Jackson of Arkansas-Monticello notched two 10+ strikeout victories on the week, as the Cotton Blossoms went 6-0… Indianapolis’ Megan Russell had 16 RBIs and four home runs as the Greyhounds went 7-0… Briana Sanchez of Incarnate Word won all three games for her team on the week and finished with a 0.00 ERA… Southeastern Oklahoma’s Jeana Keyes hit .533 on the week, including a five-for-five performance, as the Savage Storm went 2-2.
