LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Blue Springs South’s (Mo.) Courtney Lane captured the latest MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Fall Player of the Week award, the Association announced on Monday. She is being recognized for her outstanding play for the week of Sept. 15-21.
Lane batted .600 and drove in 11 runs over six games, as the (13-6) Jaguars, ranked 15th in the latest NFCA Summer/Fall Top 25 Coaches Poll, went 5-1 for the week, including 3-1 at the Park Hill South tournament.
The yet-uncommitted junior compiled three multiple-hit games, and collected five RBI in both her first and final game of the week. Lane was 2-for-3 with a home run versus rival Blue Springs last Sunday and 3-for-4 with two doubles against host Park Hill South in Blue Springs South’s final contest at that tournament. She also had two hits in the Jaguars’ lone loss, by one run to Savannah this past Friday.
For the week, Lane was 9-for-15, with six runs scored, three doubles, a homer, three walks and no strikeouts in 18 plate appearances.
